Director, Analytical R&D and Process R&D, Development Sciences & Clinical Supply Finance
The Director will oversee a team of five Finance professionals and will be responsible for our Research & Development Division Finance’s business partner support for two areas:
Analytical Research & Development within Development Sciences & Clinical Supply (DSCS): organization is responsible for analytical method development and testing in support of clinical supply manufacture, release and stability for both drug substance and drug product across all modalities
Process Research & Development within DSCS: organization is responsible for process development and early clinical supply manufacture of drug substance across all modalities
In the last few years, drug product, device and global clinical supplies have all experienced impressive growth driven by our Company’s pipeline. This growth is expected to continue driven by pipeline needs and new capabilities.
The incumbent is expected to develop a deep understanding of the functions supported and the role they play in the R&D value chain, partnering with the functional leaders to provide robust support in financial planning, management, and decision support. While scientific knowledge or background is not essential, a successful candidate will have intrinsic curiosity about R&D, a passion for learning, and the ability to effectively communicate a financial picture to scientific leadership.
The position requires an enterprise mindset, the ability to navigate across a broad set of networks, and the ability to understand and influence interactions within the functions as well as with other parts of our Research & Development Division and other divisions.
Position Qualifications:
Education Minimum Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Science or Engineering
Strongly desired: MBA and/or CPA or other Master’s/PhD in Business, Finance, Science or Engineering
Required Experience and Skills:
10 years of operations or Finance experience
Strong computer skills, specifically SAP, BPC, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Strong financial acumen, excellent analytical skills and knowledge of financial planning and reporting processes
Strong organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate and on-time deliverables
Excellent business partnering skills with proven ability to build diverse peer and client relationships and influence outcomes
Passion for managing talent and with ability to coach, manage and motivate team members in a challenging and complex environment
Demonstrated ability to provide strategic guidance for evolving operating models in the business that may require “outside of the box” solutions
Sound and balanced judgment, with the ability to assess and manage risk and quickly drive decisions
Proven track record in driving large, complex change initiatives; results-driven orientation with clear problem-solving ability
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected US salary range:
$149,400.00 - $235,100.00Available benefits include bonus eligibility, long term incentive if applicable, health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and sick days. A summary of benefits is listed here.
