Director, Accounting

THE ROLE  

We're looking for an experienced and driven accounting leader to take charge of all core functions—GL, AP/AR, payroll, and monthly close—while ensuring GAAP-compliant financials and leading audits and tax filings. As the Director of a growing accounting team, you'll implement scalable policies, partner with cross-functional teams, and support strategic initiatives. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT 

• Own and drive all core accounting functions, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and monthly close.

• Oversee and maintain GAAP-compliant financial statements and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly and quarterly closes.

• Oversee technical accounting and treasury management.

• Lead external audits, tax preparation, and compliance filings.

• Develop and implement scalable accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls as the company grows.

• Partner cross-functionally (especially with Finance, Legal, HR, and Product teams) to support strategic initiatives and reporting needs.

• Lead and grow a small but mighty accounting team, with the ability to scale the function over time.

WHAT SKILLS YOU’LL NEED

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in a leadership role at a high-growth tech or SaaS company.

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, especially in SaaS-related topics like:

  • Revenue recognition (ASC 606)

  • Capitalized commissions

  • Capitalized software development

  • Stock-based compensation

• CPA is required; Big 4 or national firm experience is a plus.

• Experience with accounting systems like NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar; experience implementing/upgrading ERP systems is a bonus.

• Experience with platforms like Shopify and Chargebee is a plus.

BONUS IF YOU HAVE:

• Experience at a Shopify technology partner company

• Experience with e-commerce solutions

SALARY RANGE: $180,000-$195,000

This position is not eligible for visa transfer or sponsorship.
