DevOps Engineer

The DevOps Engineer will ensure operational excellence as applications transition into test and production environments. They will actively address any issues that prevent systems or applications from functioning as intended, focusing on improving the time to detect, fix, and Mitigate.
This role involves enhancing Accertify’s monitoring solutions, defining SLIs/SLOs, and developing automated solutions using various programming languages. The ideal candidate will have experience with Ansible, Kubernetes, and a strong understanding of on-prem architecture. Additionally, they should be well-versed in monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and the ELK stack, with a keen understanding of scalability.
The DevOps Engineer will collaborate closely with the DevOps team to ensure high availability, low latency, optimal performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage code deployment and delivery processes.
- Scale cloud infrastructure to support our growing ecosystem.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Contribute to system design and architecture decisions to improve reliability and performance.
- Implement and maintain container orchestration platforms e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure system—reliability and participation in production support.
- Conducting incident management and contributing to associated retrospectives/postmortems as needed.
- Responsible for the stability and performance of critical Business Services.
- Participating in Agile Sprints and associated ceremonies.
- Document processes, tools, and best practices for the DevOps team.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with networking concepts like load balancing (E.g. AWS Elastic load balancer, NGNX), TCP/IP, DNS. HTTP/S. firewalls, VPNS, proxies and subnets.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions,).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, or Go).
- Solid understanding of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Familiarity with security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Potential salary range: $90,000 - 135,000. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
- This role is eligible for remote US-based (work-from-home) locations. Chicago-based candidates would work in a hybrid capacity from the Accertify HQ located in Itasca, IL.
