What You Will Do

Stryker is currently hiring a Senior Staff DevOps Engineer. In this role, you will be a vital part of our DevOps team, responsible for maintaining, designing, and implementing CI/CD pipelines as well as developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for public cloud. Additionally, you will oversee day-to-day operations of various internal and external SaaS products. We emphasize automation of operational tasks and are seeking an operational engineer with a developer mindset. As a member of a small team, your ability to learn quickly and work independently is crucial. You will take ownership of your work and results. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage continuous integration and deployment pipelines.  
  • Write, plan, and create reproducible Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Manage Terraform modules for reusability across different environments. 
  • Implement monitoring, tracing, and logging systems using system of Observability. Analyze application performance and debug issues using observability data. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve OS (Operating System) issues, optimize system performance, and ensure high availability of services. 
  • Design and implement network solutions to support the infrastructure.
  • Manage network protocols, software, and infrastructure including VPNs, DNS, and network security. 
  • Monitor application performance and system availability, design and implement disaster recovery plans. 
  • Track and implement compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, etc.)
  • Participate in incident response for customer and stakeholder issues.
  • On Call work as needed

Competencies:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience with Azure DevOps, GitLab, or GitHub. Proficient in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines following best practices.
  • Skilled in managing application and infrastructure configurations, with a focus on handling sensitive information securely.
  • Enthusiastic about automating workflows, paying meticulous attention to details, and collaborating effectively across Engineering, Support, and Product Management teams.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, enabling you to convey complex design concepts persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in work item tracking, capturing service notes, and meticulous documentation.
