What you will be doing in the role of a Development Manager, Go Pink for the Cure:

The Go Pink for the Cure Manager is a member of the Community Development Department, which drives strategies and manages relationships regionally, state-wide, and locally to fund the Mission of Susan G. Komen. The role of the Development Manager, Go Pink for the Cure is to help build this newly created revenue stream by identifying and developing partnerships and working collaboratively with staff to expand current partnerships.

What you will bring to the table

  • Assist in the development and execution of a year-round fundraising plan for activation and acquisition of Go Pink for the Cure fundraising partners working across the Community Development market fundraising teams.
  • Identifying the strongest current and new opportunities in the Go Pink arena and helping to develop strategies to implement more widely across the Komen footprint.
  • Provide proactive outreach to new, lapsed and current partners to increase their fundraising for Susan G. Komen utilizing a number of revenue channels such as third-party events, DIY, Race and Walk, etc.
  • Identify and build a pipeline of new prospective sports based and school-based partners and build new partnerships through proactive outreach.  Expected to meet monthly, quarterly and annual partnership and revenue goals which include $250K in new revenue.
  • Execute business rules to transition relationships to market fundraising team to create returning annual partners and growing portfolio of fundraising opportunities.
  • Adhere to best practices and timelines and drive accountability. Must coach fundraisers externally to maximize their effort and utilize tools and resources available to support their efforts.
  • Create and follow a touchpoint plan documenting moves management strategy, portfolio management and opportunities in Salesforce.
  • Develop and execute creative ways to motivate and interact fundraising ambassadors for Go Pink program to aid in retention efforts.
  • Adhere to best practices and event timelines and drive accountability by the team. Ability to keep participants, donors, volunteers, and staff on track and motivated to reach revenue goals.
  • Work across the department to ensure opportunities that are equitably sought across all Community Development regions.
  • Support and serve as an active contributor to the Go Pink Fundraising workgroup.
  • Work cross functionally with other development teams in and across community development as needed.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Susan G. Komen mission and programs to promote the field and campaign fundraising initiatives.
  • Maintains productive and collaborative relationships with all Komen staff; participates on regional and enterprise projects and committees as appropriate
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

We know you will have and be able to

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 3-5 years’ experience in fundraising, special events and team management.
  • The ability to analyze best practices and incorporate these practices into Komen program implementation plan.
  • Ability to close face to face sales and sponsorships.
  • Strong volunteer recruitment and management skills and demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service and motivation to business and social leaders.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated professional and mature interaction with other staff and leadership volunteers, sponsors, donors and others to engage them toward the achievement of revenue goals.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities at one time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively speak and present to individuals including high net worth donors, executive corporate management as well as small, mid-size and large groups.
  • Knowledge of current techniques and procedures used for fundraising success.

  • Approximate salary of $49,000 - $65,000; exact compensation ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, experience and geographic location.
