Acentra seeks a Developer, Manager to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

  The role of the Development Manager is to manage day-to-day supervision of assigned Developers, overseeing the delivery of application support and maintenance for assigned project/ program or the subsystem(s)/COTS products across project(s), and provide leadership and direction to the team members across all aspects of delivery

 

*Position is remote, based in the state of Georgia, may require up to 25% travel*.

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate with delivery development managers to provide day-to-day management and supervision of team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional managers to define and assess the development process across multiple projects, applications, and programs.
  • Understand team capabilities, provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to ensure corporate goals are met.
  • Work with program and delivery teams on client-facing developer allocations.
  • Apply communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to guide the team on issues related to the design, development, security, and deployment of solutions and software systems.
  • Manage multiple internal initiatives aimed at continually improving the development organization, its cross-training and onboarding programs, and keeping it modern and in tip-top shape.
  • Measure and enforce the use of coding standards and best practices.
  • Ensure a strong customer service focus across the application and program development function.
  • Responsible for facilitating administrative employee functions such as, performance management, evaluations, reviews, etc.
  • Performs technical oversight and assessment of application and program development, development processes and people to ensure both project and corporate goals are met
  • Supports proposal development by reviewing technical solution and pricing estimates
  • Manages the development projects, new initiatives, and provides quality control on assigned project
  • Guides team on issues related to design, development and deployment of solutions and software systems, applying expertise and knowledge of development field
  • Enforces use of coding standards and best practices

Requirements

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (technology-related) and 10+ years of software development leadership and as related to job responsibilities
  • 3+ years of people management and development leadership experience at large complex organizations (Matrix experience a plus)
  • Demonstrated working experience collaborating with cross functional teams drawing consensus and documenting new standards and processes.
  • Waterfall, Iterative, Agile, and blended development methodologies experience
  • Strong working experience with Jira
  • Experience in the healthcare industry
  • Expert level experience in COTS products (such as COGNOS, CRM, IVR, Oracle E-Business Suite, IBM DataStage, IBM Watson Analytics, Salesforce, PEGA, MuleSoft, Document Management Tools (FileNet, SharePoint), Oracle SOA, Pitney Bowes - EngageOne, EDIFECS - XEngine)"
  • Good experience configuring application code on-premise and cloud infrastructure (such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle Cloud, IBM cloud)

 

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Knowledge/past working experience of:

OOP concepts, including at least 1 OOP language (Java preferred).

Managing application development on Java Spring framework

Various front-end technologies (HTML5, JQuery JavaScript, etc.)

Relational & Non-relational databases.

COTS Products. (Oracle, Cognos, Oracle E-Business Suite, etc.)

Power BI preferred, or similar metrics reporting tool

Service-oriented or microservices architecture is strongly preferred.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $115,189/yr - $160,900/yr

“Based on our compensation philosophy, an applicant’s placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level.”
