Desktop Infrastructure Engineer

CAN, Ontario - Full Time Remote

The opportunity

As a Desktop Infrastructure Engineer, you will work on engineering and maintenance of the corporate desktop infrastructure including Windows environment, and on implementing and supporting infrastructure initiatives in the environment such as device configuration, software provisioning, build management and vulnerability remediation.

Responsibilities 

  • Manage, optimize, and modernize platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved.

  • Maintain desktop, laptop and VDIs – the endpoint environment configurations:

  • Maintain Intune / GPO policies across Windows and Mac devices.

  • Assist in following corporate hardening standard by working closely with governance teams including Risk, Security, and Audit 

  • Analyze, diagnose and resolve complex desktop end user problems and suggest corrective solutions.

  • Execute plans and implement technical infrastructure projects to refresh supported systems.

  • Document processes and procedures for maintenance and support

  • Identify and apply standard methodologies

  • Analyze periodic scan reports to proactively identify the severity of vulnerabilities as well as items affected in accordance with the Vulnerability Management Policy. 

  • Extend 3rd level remote support for users

  • Additional duties as assigned, as well as specific projects, adhoc assignments or immediate remediation and initiatives

What we are looking for

  • Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager (MECM) experience is a must

  • Minimum 5 or more years of demonstrated enterprise experience in supporting SCCM/MECM with complex environment

  • Intensive knowledge with desktop asset management software including System Center Configuration Manager, Microsoft Intune and Autopilot 

  • Advanced knowledge of patch management and software distribution, group policy

  • Sound knowledge of tools such as Bomgar, Tanium solutions, Aternity and Qualys platform would also be beneficial

  • Basic knowledge of resolving network issues involving Ethernet and IP configuration

  • Proficiency in Microsoft support tools, such as DNS, storage and networking

  • Strong verbal communication and active listening skills, with the ability to effectively interact with end users and internal stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to taking initiative and owning tasks or problems.

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,190.00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD
