The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Design Solutions Sales Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Specify 3M products on engineering drawings & provide support required to transition business to manufacturing locations throughout zones, regions, and subsidiaries
- Meeting or exceeding sales quota in your defined sales territory
- Engaging Industrial designers, design influencers and engineers to develop a hopper of projects to move from exploration to production
- Building strong collaborative relationship with your customers
- Supporting 3M new product development process with 3M IATD lab to meet OEM application requirements
- Managing project process through Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Database
Company Vehicle
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Five (5) years of combined Application Engineering, Technical Sales and/or Marketing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Current, Valid Driver’s license is required, as you will be issued a company vehicle
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience in a technical sales or application engineering role in a private, public, government or military environment
- Prior experience with Pressure Sensitive Adhesives and Structural Adhesive technology
- Experience working in a specification-based industry
- Experience with OEM, tier, contract manufacturers
- Technical aptitude towards application development and replication
- Ability to work as a team member in a matrix organization
Work location:
- Territory: San Jose/Bay Area, CA
Travel: May include up to 40% Domestic within the assigned territory
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
