Job Description:

What You'll Be Doing:

  • This role has project-facing and personnel-oriented responsibilities:

  • Design Quality resource coordination activities:
    • Engage across the business to support proposal from a quality perspective
    • Engage in recruiting and hiring for Design Quality resources
    • Manage Design Quality resource project assignments
    • Manage Design Quality resource performance
    • Manage training and development for Design Quality resources
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of design project quality including all design quality control and assurance activities across various projects and project-types (Design-Build; Design-Bid-Build; Engineer, Procure, Construct (EPC)).
  • Develop and implement robust design quality systems and procedures aligned with ISO 9001 as well as client/contract and Parsons requirements.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits ensuring compliance to project quality requirements while identifying performance trends through data analysis.
  • Foster continuous improvement culture by leading initiatives aimed at enhancing design quality.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify potential issues early in the design process and implement corrective actions.
  • Liaise with stakeholders including clients, project managers, engineers, designers, and suppliers to ensure alignment on quality expectations.
  • Provide training and guidance on best practices in design quality management.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Quality discipline or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • typically 12+ years of related work experience in the field of Quality, including 5+ years experience in management capacity.
  • Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001 or equal) or ASQ certification (CMQ/OE, CQA, or CQE).


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within six months of hire date
    • Preferred states include: WA, CA, TX, VA, MD, GA, NY, NJ and/or FL
  • Ability to obtain additional state PE license(s) to support assigned projects
  • Ability to communicate design quality principles clearly
  • Experience with Design-Build projects from an engineering and quality perspective
  • 8-10 years of demonstrated experience in technical design development
    • Especially civil / structural engineering
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in Quality Management would be advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and management skills
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft products, SharePoint, and ProjectWise
  • Proven experience managing design quality within an engineering environment; familiarity with ISO 9001 Standard is essential.
  • Strong leadership skills inspiring teams towards achieving high-quality outcomes

Salary Range: 

$117,000.00 - $210,600.00
