Design Manager, Fully Remote

We’re looking for a well rounded design manager to lead our team of talented designers and partner with product and engineering managers to extend and improve our products.

What you’ll do

As a Design Manager, you'll lead our design team in crafting innovative software solutions for YouTube creators. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Develop and execute design strategy to meet business goals and user needs

• Collaborate with product and engineering management to define our product roadmap, set priority, and distribute design tasks to ship high-quality features

• Provide product design direction, feedback, and critique

• Coach, mentor, and manage an inclusive team of talented designers with varied experience levels

• Ensure the team designs and ships exceptional solutions

• Maintain a collaborative team culture that encourages growth and produces outstanding work

• Develop a process for incorporating brand and marketing into product

Who you’ll work with

Join a dynamic team crafting the future of creator tools at vidIQ. As our Design Lead, you'll collaborate with passionate product managers and engineers dedicated to empowering YouTube creators to reach their full potential. Reporting directly to the Head of Product, you'll drive strategic design initiatives while leading a diverse team of four designers across global time zones. Your partnerships with product and engineering managers will be crucial in shaping innovative solutions that make a real impact in the creator economy.

Requirements

Who you are: You're a design leader with a passion for empowering creators. You have a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in designing intuitive, user-friendly interfaces. You have experience managing designers, developing design systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• You love YouTube and have a strong desire to help creators on the platform succeed

• You have at least 5 years experience designing and shipping software for web, iOS, and Android – some brand and marketing design experience is a plus

• You’re a dynamic mentor, a supportive sponsor, and motivational leader

• You have experience collaborating remotely

• You want to be part of a product led company that ships quickly and leverages data to inform the roadmap

• You have experience managing or leading designers

• You have a portfolio of two or three projects that showcase your latest work
