What you will be doing

You will analyse project trends to identify logistics risks and opportunities, while championing governance and logistics standards. Regularly assessing processes, you’ll drive improvements and develop long-term plans to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. You’ll create and maintain a forward-looking logistics strategy aligned with organisational goals, ensuring initiatives are feasible and supported by the business. Additionally, you’ll ensure sensitive project documents, including nuclear information, are protected and comply with EDF’s policies. Additional responsibilities in this role include:

  • Drive and challenge project delivery strategies, considering interdependencies and interfaces to support prioritisation and timely decision-making.
  • Ensure logistics management and training materials meet the project’s needs and are continuously updated.
  • Collaborate closely with other HPC departments (e.g., Commercial, Finance, IT, Project Delivery) to integrate logistics strategies across the organisation.
  • Align logistics activities with external partners, suppliers, and customers to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration between logistics and other functions within the organisation.
  • Lead successful change initiatives with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Ensure internal and external stakeholders are aligned and supportive of transformation efforts.
  • Continuously seek to improve logistics performance through best practices, digital transformation, process re-engineering, and cultural change initiatives.
  • Oversee the execution of transformation initiatives, ensuring they deliver value on time and within budget, and are fully integrated into operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement across logistics functions, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and service enhancement through best practices and lean methodologies.
  • Coordinate performance reporting for the logistics organisation.
  • Develop and track KPIs to measure and report the effectiveness of logistics transformation efforts to leadership.

Who you are

With a delivery-focused mindset, you influence stakeholders and lead teams to success. Strong analytical and numerical skills enable you to develop actionable plans, while your attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills help you build relationships both internally and externally. You communicate effectively at all levels, ensuring clarity in reports that guide strategic decisions. With a keen understanding of how changes impact project delivery, you excel in critical thinking, problem-solving, and organisation, supported by expertise in business case development and risk management. Additional requirements for this role include:

  • Lead and manage change strategies to ensure smooth transitions during large-scale organisational transformations, minimising risks and disruption.
  • Extensive experience in planning and operations for major capital projects, particularly in construction or other relevant industries.
  • Proven ability to deliver concise, accurate project insights that support evidence-based decision-making, using both commercial and technical data to influence logistics management.
  • Strong understanding of how changes and decisions affect the risk profile of the project and logistics operations delivery.
  • Skilled at simplifying complex issues and insights for both technical and non-technical senior audiences.

To be successful in this role, we’re looking for you to hold a degree or equivalent experience, preferably with logistics-specific qualifications. Ideally, you've worked in a complex, highly regulated industry like nuclear, aerospace, logistics, construction, or energy, where you’ve managed integration and influenced senior stakeholders. Your experience in applying logistics frameworks to major projects has driven successful outcomes. Familiar with logistics technology solutions, you've led complex project implementations. With strong leadership skills, you’ve effectively supported teams to maximise their performance and deliver results.
