Job Summary:This position serves as the Deputy Equal Employment Opportunity & Relations Officer (EEORO) and reports to ADOT’s Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). The position directs the day-to-day operations of the Employee Equal Opportunity (EEO) programs and managers which include: Employee Non Discrimination/Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Affirmative Action, and Employee Accommodation requests (Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Religious, Pregnancy); and the Employee Relations (ER) Manager and ER-related functions.
Participates in and undertakes special projects as assigned by the CHRO or agency leaders. This position requires a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while being tactful and diplomatic at all times. The position is responsible for work that includes the handling of highly sensitive and confidential materials. Travel required around the state to conduct employee investigations and training.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.A minimum of 3 days per week in office is anticipated.

Job Duties:Directs, coordinates, and implements all activities related to EEO programs and all ER -related activities (including but not limited to Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), light duty, performance management, Arizona State Employee Drivers Record Application (ASEDRA) monitoring, discipline, benefits/billing, reasonable suspicion/post accident drug/alcohol testing).
Responsible for developing and implementing sustainable strategies and processes that promote innovation, collaboration and process improvement within and across EEO and ER programs and timely response to employee-related complaints.
Promotes collaboration between various units as necessary to manage employee administrative investigations. Manage an active Affirmative Action Program.
Tracks all inquiries, complaints, cases, and investigations. Provides guidance and feedback to staff related to investigative best practices and/or techniques.
