The anticipated salary range for this role is between $100,000.00 and $150,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

SUMMARY:

Think about the last time you logged into your banking application. Did you feel engaged or happy about the experience? Have you thought about ways you could make your bank experience better? We are looking for creative minds to help us reimagine banking and that can help us build the next generation bank. As an Onboarding Product Owner, you will continuously evaluate our customer interactions from pre-market research through existing customer data to always find new ways to improve the customer experience and exceed expectations. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Work with cross functional teams (Product, Risk, Design, Engineering, etc.) to define and deliver requirements that result in market leading Onboarding capabilities across deposit products. 
  • Managing the tracking and reporting of the Onboarding analytics to help understand Customer behavior and areas for improvement or Customer pain points in the journey. 
  • Assist with defect and production incident monitoring, triage, and remediation to minimize Customer complaints and help avoid any financial, reputational, and/or legal risk. 
  • Define Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) in support of research and in-market monitoring for continual product / experience refinement.  
  • Assist with maintaining the onboarding roadmap, including near term prioritization of capabilities to align with the product learning agenda. 
  • Responsible for interacting with key partners/suppliers that provide capabilities across the onboarding experience. 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. 
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner leading a team of developers/vendors to deliver digital applications to market. 
  • Experience with leveraging data analytics to make recommendations and decisions that lead to improvements in the Customer experience and/or business OKRs. 
  • Experience leading cross functional teams through decision-making to balance numerous constraints and achieve optimized outcomes. 
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and using associated tools (i.e. Jira) for backlog grooming/user story writing. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience using tools such as Miro and Confluence for collaboration and mapping of process flows.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience working with APIs (i.e. working with teams who update and manage API interations, specifically addressing data contracts and process flows) 
  • Working knowledge of core processors (i.e. FIS, FDR, TSYS).
