The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a Supply & Demand Planner to drive inventory optimization, replenishment planning, and demand analysis across our distribution network.

This role is full-time remote, with preferred candidates located within a reasonable distance of Radnor, PA.

What We’re Looking For:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in supply planning, demand planning, inventory management, or procurement.
  • Experience with SAP MRP tools related to demand forecasting and supply planning.
  • Experience in multi-DC inventory planning and supplier coordination is highly desirable.
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP certification preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Required: Proficiency in SAP or similar MRP tools.
  • Required: Advanced Excel (PivotTables, Power Query, Macros, Data Modeling).
  • Preferred: SQL or Power BI for demand/supply analytics.

How You Will Thrive & Create an Impact:

Supply Planning Responsibilities (Primary Focus):

  • Execute supply planning and replenishment processes to ensure optimal inventory levels across distribution centers.
  • Manage purchase orders and supplier coordination to ensure on-time availability of materials.
  • Optimize inventory positioning using MRP-driven replenishment strategies, balancing safety stock, EOQ, and reorder points.
  • Analyze and adjust inventory parameters (ROP, SS, EOQ) to align with demand patterns and capacity constraints.
  • Collaborate with sourcing, logistics, and DC operations to resolve supply constraints and reduce backorders.
  • Monitor and improve key supply chain metrics such as fill rate, on-time delivery, supplier lead times, and working capital utilization.
  • Develop strategies to rebalance inventory across DCs, leveraging SAP replenishment tools and the Index process.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency in supply planning and reduce excess inventory.

Demand Planning Responsibilities (Secondary Focus):

  • Analyze historical demand trends to provide input into supply planning decisions.
  • Support forecasting efforts by collaborating with sales and commercial teams to understand demand shifts.
  • Work with Finance and Sales to track demand variability and adjust replenishment strategies accordingly.
  • Identify and adjust demand signals in SAP to ensure correct planning execution.
  • Participate in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, providing supply-side insights.

Key Competencies & Skills:

  • Strong SAP MRP skills – experience with planning transactions and exception monitoring.
  • Data-driven decision-making – ability to analyze large datasets and recommend stocking strategies.
  • Cross-functional collaboration – ability to work with sourcing, logistics, finance, and sales teams.
  • Understanding of supply chain constraints, including lead times, supplier MOQs, and capacity limitations.
  • Process improvement mindset – experience with Six Sigma or Lean principles is a plus.

Work Environment & Travel:

  • Remote role with occasional travel (~5%) to distribution centers or supplier sites.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment where priorities shift quickly.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$60,100.00 - $100,100.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
