The Role

We are hiring a Demand Planner to join the team at Decker’s headquarters in beautiful Santa Barbara. You will work closely with the Sales and Supply Planning teams to execute Sales strategy and aid in optimizing inventory decisions. Utilizing our planning system, you will create, analyze, and manage forecasting at the SKU level for a footwear brand. The ideal candidate is a self- starter who is strategic, analytical and enjoys working independently as well as collaboratively.

Your Impact
Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons by analyzing historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, lifecycle, customer POs, and customer projections to improve forecast accuracy.

  • Share forecast assumptions and impact of strategic activities to forecast outcomes to broader organization and various stakeholders.
  • Perform ongoing analysis and monitoring of actual performance to forecasted plan, identify significant variances, take corrective actions, and detail assumptions.
  •  Coordinate and lead demand consensus process to identify changes in the demand plan, achieve consensus around key drivers, calling out significant changes, and forecasting accuracy.
  • Collaborate with supply planning to ensure successful inventory management throughout item lifecycle.

Who You Are

A successful candidate is comfortable working independently as well as being part of a team. Initiating conversations about the business proactively is a key part of the demand planning role. There are several cross functional partners so ability to gain agreement and pivot communication depending on the audience is important. Monthly presentations are part of the role so comfort with speaking in front of large groups is preferable.
