Demand Planner
Remote
The Demand Planner analyzes inventory levels, customer demand, past sales, weather, seasonality, and multiple other variables to determine the amount of product to be held in inventory at any time.
Compensation Data: Exempt salary starting at $90k plus based on experience.
Travel: Minimal
Location/Schedule: 100% Remote. General business schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepares SKU level forecasts using multiple sources of quantitative and qualitative data, such as forecasts, future orders, historical sales, and feedback from sales and marketing teams.
2. Creates a 12–24-month sales forecast that encompasses various horizons, marketing insights, internal forecasts for the aftermarket and promotions, historical sales, and transitional information such as new product launch and end of life.
3. Consults with functional teams such as sales, marketing, operations, finance, and product management to obtain relevant information and insights on demand.
4. Leads Demand meetings (SIOP) with Sales and Product Management to examine forecast error, future forecasts and to ensure that EOL, NFI, and replacement products are properly accounted for.
5. Integrates the Demand review results into the final business planning process.
6. Accurately loads forecast into the ERP system to ensure appropriate requirements.
7. Prepares and provides the Sales & Marketing team with reports to assist in market research and customer discussions.
8. Leads improvement efforts in company's key metrics such as forecast accuracy, fill rate and inventory turns.
9. Leads or participates in cross-functional projects.
10. Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative working relationships with all stakeholders, including customers.
11. Reduces excess inventory items to minimal levels through collaboration with sales team and proper inventory ordering practices.
What you will need to succeed:
Education & Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, finance, engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, or a related degree is required.
· A minimum 5 years of demand planning experience in a multi-product / multi business unit environment.
· Supply chain or inventory certification(s) such as APICS; CPIM; CSCP; CPP preferred.
Competencies:
· Extensive knowledge and experience with MRP systems.
· Highly organized and analytical with experience using Excel, Access, Sequel Server, and other similar tools.
· Experience in managing supply chains from Asia.
· Experience with end-of-cycle and absolute inventory.
· Excellent communicator with good business acumen and the ability to influence stakeholders.
· Solid business acumen, planning and presentation skills needed.
