SUMMARY

Assist in the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of Arrowhead’s enterprise data warehouse with an emphasis on product management, statistical, and actuarial data.  Statistical reporting of insurance operations metrics from database applications to support the actuarial, product management, marketing, senior management, and other Arrowhead functions that require insurance statistics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following, (other duties may be assigned):

  • ETL programming utilizing SSIS packages
  • Develop, maintain and implement standards for data and ETL processes
  • Analyze and translate functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications for the development of ETL program logic
  • Manage the development of ETL logic to meet business requirements for reporting and analytic databases
  • Advise on detailed design for ETL and data allocation functions
  • Researching insurance product lines
  • Examining existing program data and information
  • Enhance existing reporting for stakeholders
  • Designing and prototyping line of business oriented datamarts
  • Populating and updating databases
  • Bureau and Statutory Reporting (NISS, ISO)
  • Querying company databases to produce statistically-oriented datasets and/or reports on (but not limited to) the following:
  • Written Premium, Earned Premium, Earned Exposure Units, Fees, Loss Adjustment Expenses, Loss Counts, In-force Policy Counts, Rating Parameters (Territory, Class, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to create and modify queries and stored procedures in SQL
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (SSIS and SSRS)
  • Experience developing with and supporting SSIS and related tools
  • Solid understanding of data warehouse modern design methodologies
  • Solid understanding of database/SSIS/general software development best practices
  • Solid understanding of the end-to-end scope of work related to ETL by using SSIS
  • Experience with very large databases, data warehouses and high-volume ETL processes
  • Experience in all aspects of database design and development, stored procedure development, SSIS development and reporting services
  • Strong background in data warehousing principles and methodologies
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. 
  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of modern algebra, functions, and statistical theory.

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems

Pay Range

$115,000.00 - $125,000.00 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
