Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing large datasets to uncover insights that drive strategic decisions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop predictive models and algorithms to address business challenges, identify actionable opportunities, and design innovative and intelligent data-driven solutions. Strong expertise in machine learning, data mining, and statistical analysis is essential. Proven experience in applying machine learning and AI techniques to real-world problems a must. A background in healthcare is preferred, as you will be working on projects that directly impact patient care and safety.

What you will work on
- Develop and Implement Machine Learning Models:
- Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms to solve specific problem.
- Our technologists, no matter what level, never go hands off. We think it’s important to be close to the technology and solutions, to have a line of sight into how our models integrate with the products. Our data scientist team is involved in all aspects of the model building process, from conception to deployment
- Continuously evaluate and improve the performance of models.
- Data Analysis and Insight Generation:
- Work closely with the team to understand business problems and translate them into data-driven solutions.
- Analyze large datasets (structured and unstructured) to discover trends, patterns, and relationships.
- Maintain and Optimize Data Pipelines:
- Collaborate with project team to identify relevant data sources for specific projects.
- Assist in automating data collection processes from various sources.
- Collaborate with data analysts to perform data cleaning, pre-processing, and validation to ensure data quality and accuracy.
- Collaborate with data engineers to maintain and optimize data pipelines, ensuring data integrity and availability for analysis and model development.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Participate in discussions with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences through data visualization techniques.
- Collaborate with engineers and product development teams to integrate data-driven solutions into existing systems.
- Document data collection, analysis, and modeling processes for knowledge sharing and reproducibility.
- Problem solving and Learning:
- The problems we are solving are unique and complex. This takes critical thinking, root cause analysis, and issue dissection with the team to produce the best solution. You will be at the forefront, translating business problems into technical approaches and designs that yield actionable recommendations to enhance and drive products/solutions.
- Proactively learn and stay updated on the latest data science tools, techniques, and best practices.
- Continuously improve programming and software development skills relevant to data science.
Qualifications
- Can use different query languages like SQL or NoSQL (Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, etc) to collect, clean, manipulate, and transform data
- Proficiency in Python, particularly libraries like pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn. Familiarity with R may also be beneficial.
- Strong experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, and OpenCV.
- Strong foundation in statistical concepts like hypothesis testing, A/B testing, regression analysis, and probability distributions.
- Strong experience with different ML models (clustering, classification, regression, preprocessing);
- Understand how common deep learning ML models work (Deep Neural Network, Recurrent Neural Networks, Transformers), with different domains (text, images, tabular, time series).
- Hands-on experience throughout entire ML process: from data collection and transform, to model training and evaluation, to model deployment.
- Basic software engineering skills: with Python can build APIs serving ML models and APIs that transform data, can interact with AWS, Kubernetes, Linux, bash
- Skills to create clear and informative visualizations to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. Expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with SDLC, Agile, and issue tracking. Experience with version control systems like Git.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a data science role
- Nice to have: experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with healthcare data standards, regulations, and best practices, is a plus.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

- Competitive compensation, with a base salary of $90,000 - $100,000 (Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience)
