Job Description:
As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for applying advanced analytics and data-driven models to optimize supplier performance, procurement strategies, and resource allocation. This role will partner closely with Central Buying and Supplier Management teams to generate actionable insights, leveraging machine learning models, and support decision-making that drives cost savings, supplier performance, and operational efficiencies.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Develop Advanced Models for Supplier Optimization: Build predictive models and optimization algorithms to improve supplier selection, drive discount expansion, and optimize sourcing decisions.
- Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to develop dashboards, visualizations, and monitoring systems that provide insights into procurement operations.
- Communicate Strategic Insights: Provide clear updates and insights to cross functional team to help inform strategy
- Identify and Mitigate Risks: Proactively identify risks that could impact strategic objectives and partner to develop comprehensive mitigation strategies to minimize potential disruptions.
- Drive Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities for process enhancement and innovation within the organization to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support Decision-Making with Data Analysis: Utilize data-driven insights to support decision-making across the supply chain, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Conduct Experimentation and A/B Testing: Test the effectiveness of pricing strategies, discount programs, and supplier diversification initiatives.
- Evaluate Cost Optimization Opportunities: Regularly assess cost drivers and identify opportunities for savings through supplier negotiations, process efficiencies, and strategic sourcing.
- Build Data Science Roadmap: Develop and implement a roadmap for building and optimizing the analytics infrastructure needed to support the data science team, enabling advanced analytics and AI based solutions.
Education and/or Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Statistics, Business or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience working as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of procurement, supply chain, or operations analytics preferred.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, R, and cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms, time-series analysis, and optimization techniques (e.g., linear programming, clustering, ARIMA).
Required Skills/Abilities
- Machine Learning & Statistical Analysis: Strong expertise in predictive modeling, regression analysis, clustering, and optimization techniques.
- End-to-End Data Science Workflows: Experience building complete data science solutions, from data collection and cleaning to model development, deployment, and monitoring.
- Data Management: Experience working with large datasets and building ETL pipelines.
- Data Visualization & Communication: Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools to communicate complex data insights effectively.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to translate business challenges into analytical problems and deliver actionable solutions.
- Collaboration: Comfort working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying inefficiencies and proposing scalable solutions.
- Change Leadership: Ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams, encouraging adoption of data-driven changes across procurement and supplier management.

Other Requirements
- Work from Home opportunity but may be asked to travel to corporate office for special meetings
- Ability to utilize Google Suite for managing internal business controls
- Capable of working independently and with minimum supervision

67,600.00 - 96,500.00 - 125,500.00 USD plus 5% bonus
