This position is designated as work-from-home.DescriptionAs a Data Scientist with Synergy, you will join the team supporting the team supporting the mission of the Officer of the Chief Information Officer for a Federal government agency. In collaboration with the Synergy Program Technical Lead and Artificial Intelligence (AI) team, the candidate will serve as the primary resource for machine learning (ML) lifecycle issues and provide expert insights for identifying data patterns, including both pattern and anomaly detection.Essential Functions & Duties
  • Captures, processes, manages, and analyzes large data sets to identify trends and insights using advanced techniques, including natural language processing, cluster analysis, image analysis, pattern recognition, predictive modeling, and visualization
  • Hands-on development and engineering of large-scale data science solutions, preferably in production environments
  • Develop predictive models and validate their performance 
  • Ensures that data pipelines, ML pipelines, monitoring activities are established for continuous integration / continuous development (CI/CD)
  • Visualize and report findings to stakeholders using various visual formats and adapt presentations to audiences with different technical levels
  • Establish and maintain data collection and storage systems, programs, and procedures to build analytic systems, ensuring accurate and efficient data management
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and define project requirements
  • Stay current with industry trends and apply best practices in data science
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams to deliver solutions
Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates
  • Proficiency in programming languages / statistical software like R, Python, SAS, or SPSS
  • Experience with at least one cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Proficiency in ML algorithms and statistical modeling techniques
  • Experience with data analysis, feature selection, and dimensionality reduction
  • Experience with enterprise data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Oracle, SQL)
  • Experience in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Matplotlib)
  • Experience with ML libraries and tools like Scikit-learn, Pandas, and NumPy
  • Understanding of business processes and ability to align data projects with organizational goals
  • Ability to clearly communicate/present technical issues and status to customers
  • Ability to create project documentation (e.g., SOP) and user guidance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Experience working in an agile environment, coordinating across multiple teams
  • Ability to execute in a remote work environment
  • Experience with Federal government customers preferred

Preferred Education & Experience: 7 years of technical experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Management (IM), Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent; IT Solutions management experience preferred.

Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs. As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $95,000 – $125,000
