Clinical Research Data Scientist - (Boston, Rochester or Remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our Clinical Research team. Reporting to our Chief Medical Officer, The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, expertise in statistical analysis, and a passion for data-driven decision-making. You will play a crucial role in analyzing research data sets and providing actionable insights to support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, process, and analyze datasets from various sources to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Analyze and interpret clinical data sets, including electronic health records (EHR) and clinical trial data.
  • Collaborate with clinical researchers, biostatisticians, and other stakeholders to support design and execution of data-driven studies.
  • Perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and integration from various sources to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Generate insights and actionable recommendations from data analysis to inform research strategies.
  • Create visualizations and reports to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and clinical research methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of data infrastructure and tools to support ongoing research activities.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field. OR currently working towards a masters or Ph.D in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in a clinical research or healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with clinical research methodologies and regulatory requirements (e.g., GCP, HIPAA).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and their data services.
  • Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning techniques.
  • Knowledge of genomic data analysis and bioinformatics.
