We’re on the lookout for a Data Protection Specialist to join our Customer & Compliance function.

The Data Protection Specialist will be responsible for the continual improvement of Data Protection policy, standards & procedures, both for the team and of the wider business to ensure Privacy by Design. This role requires a deep understanding of data protection laws, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

The role is a hybrid role, therefore will involve a mix of working from home and from our Halifax or Manchester office.

What will I be doing?

  • Supporting the DPO developing - implementing, and maintaining data protection policy & procedures
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with data protection policy & procedures
  • Providing advice, guidance & training to the business & key functions on UKGDR, data protection, Internal & External Audits, Third Party Management and Compliance
  • Leading on engagement activities
  • Investigating and responding to data protection breaches
  • Undertaking Data Protection Impact Assessments, collaborating with InfoSec, Data Governance & Operational Resilience teams
  • Maintaining key accountability artefacts such as records of data processing activities
  • Monitoring and advising responses to Data Subject Rights Requests and responding to complaints
  • Advising on Data Sharing Agreements and Third Party Requests
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data protection and privacy law

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data protection, privacy, or a related field
  • In-depth knowledge of data protection regulations and best practices
  • Proven ability to analyse legislative requirements and translate into organisational practices, solutions and accessible material
  • Data Protection Practitioners Certification
