Data Product Manager
Remote (United States)
Data Product Manager
GoodParty.org is looking for a data obsessed Product Manager or Senior Product Manager to join us in our mission of making people matter more than money in our democracy.
About GoodParty.org:
GoodParty.org is empowering Independents to run, win, and serve so we can transform civic leadership. In 2024, we helped elect 3,287 Independent candidates into local offices across 48 states. Why?
Americans – especially young people – have been losing faith in democracy. The rigged, two-party system has turned “Independent” into a dirty word. Voters are trapped between choosing the lesser of two evils or sitting out elections altogether.
A majority of eligible voters (over 130M Americans), including more than half of Millennials and Gen Z, say that neither Republicans nor Democrats represent them. But they keep getting re-elected! Whether you’re concerned about healthcare costs, wars, the environment, our individual freedoms, or inequality, many great solutions are held back by the dark doom loop of dysfunctional partisan politics.
While mainstream media and the two major parties focus on federal elections (Congress and the President), GoodParty.org is building from the bottom up. With over 500,000 elected offices in the United States—70% of which are uncontested—GoodParty.org is powering the movement to reclaim our communities from career politicians. We’re helping independents in local and state-level campaigns nationwide. Together, we’re building a truly representative democracy where society’s biggest problems are solved.
How?
GoodParty.org empowers independents to run, win, and serve in public office without the influence of partisan or big-money support. Through our free, AI-powered tools, we enable independent candidates to prioritize people over parties and community over corporate funding, transforming real people into civic heroes. We’re a platform, not a political party.
And, it’s working! Starting with 11 wins in the 2023 election cycle, GoodParty.org set an audacious goal for 1,000 wins in 2024. We beat expectations – 3,287 candidates won this past November and are serving in office across 48 states! 40.1 million voters (26% of all 2024 voters) cast a ballot for our 6,101 candidates. Our general election win rate was 54%.
Looking ahead, we’re building on our momentum and expanding our product offerings to help candidates deliver on their promises and serve their constituents effectively. Candidates who partner with us come from across the ideological spectrum and pledge to uphold people-powered principles, anti-corruption practices, and a commitment to civility. Together, we aim to transform civic leadership, bringing real accountability to public service and setting a new standard of leaders who prioritize the people they serve.
GoodParty.org is founded by serial entrepreneur, Farhad Mohit, with over $1B in exits — Flipagram (now TikTok), Shopzilla, and BizRate.
What you’ll do:
Turn ideas into scalable product solutions that empower independents to run for office, run winning campaigns, and serve in office.
Collaborate on product vision, strategy, and roadmap with the product team, data team member and politics team stakeholders.
Create cohesive funnels that drive user adoption, growth, and unlock a viable path for independent candidates.
Draft requirements and create a roadmap for data within our products with a bias toward efficiently getting to the design stage.
Leverage your passion for users to organize user research and testing across our politically diverse user base in collaboration with the design team.
Apply quantitative and qualitative methods to validate ideas, learn from user interactions or feedback, and improve metrics on existing products.
Who we’re looking for:
You’re up for the audacious challenge of transforming our democracy by making running as an independent a viable path to getting elected to service. You’re very curious about this problem space or are already passionate about it.
You’re a proven A-player with a 5+ year track record of building data driven tech products, with increasing responsibility and success. Title will be commensurate with experience.
You’ve either built something from scratch or were very early on a product that went from 0 or 0.5 to 1 (and beyond). You’re quick to pivot when the need arises, or a better path emerges.
You get obsessed with data and the user. You research them and proactively try to make them as successful as possible by improving the data provided within the product.
You’re analytical with a metrics mindset, plus you’ve got the data, optimization, and problem-solving skills to ensure products meet their potential.
You’re exploring emerging Generative-AI tools and understand the basics of prompt engineering both to scale yourself and improve products and features.
You have a baseline understanding of how the American political system works.
You’re organized and prefer to work within lean and Kanban processes alongside design and development.
You love diving in to understand relevant products and figuring out if there are opportunities to integrate.
You’re able to work independently and also enjoy collaborating with others to iteratively solve problems in real-time. You thrive working at the startup speed that our mission demands.
You pursue understanding user perspectives and behavior with curiosity and empathy.
You communicate directly, honestly, and are open to candid feedback.
Bonus if:
You have experience working in small, tight-knit, fast-paced remote teams.
You’ve got experience studying, working, or volunteering in politics, civics, or democracy reform.
You are anti-establishment and are sick of sitting on the sidelines watching our democracy fail to meet its potential.
Why you should work at Good Party:
Join us in solving the biggest problem of our time – reinventing our democracy – so all other societal issues can be unblocked and solved
We’re a Public Benefit Corporation that prioritizes social impact over making money
Work where and how you like, on a fully remote team spread across the country
Join a passionate team with career experiences as diverse as our political views – all focused on our mission to make people matter more than money in our democracy
100% coverage of health, dental, and vision benefits for you and your dependents
We encourage you to take time off to recharge and have an unlimited PTO (sick and vacation) policy. This is a marathon, not a sprint. We believe a work-life balance is needed to get there.
We’ll make sure you’ve got what you need to work remotely through our workspace setup stipend
If you work from home, we give $50/month to help with your internet and other expenses. If you prefer co-working, that’s an option we can discuss too.
We’re fully funded for our mission. No stressing over whether the next round of funding will come through. Focus on making an impact. That’s what matters here.
The title for this role will be commensurate with experience.
The salary range is $120,000 to $160,000 for this remote, full-time position with excellent benefits. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, seniority, education, qualifications, certifications, and organizational needs.
