Position Description
The Data Manager will be an integral member of the Advanced Energy United membership, sales and business development team, driving opportunities to strengthen our data management and develop strategic use of data to further our mission, member and stakeholder engagement, and growth. The Data Manager will be responsible for ensuring good working order of Altai, our CRM and Association Management System, and other data management systems. They will develop processes to maintain the integrity of the data and will spearhead efforts to further build out the systems to strengthen our management of data across the organization.
They will be responsible for administering and supporting the CRM and AMS, as well as other database tools as needed relating to the management and delivery of data. This includes conducting research for database and software upgrades and managing vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
CRM Database Administration, Strategy, and Management
- Manage best practices for data input and output
- Ensure timely and accurate updates including sales processing, management of communications preferences, event and donor stewardship tracking, etc.
- Oversee coordination of integrations and information sharing between Altai and other platforms
- Support reporting needs for finance, sales and engagement
- Create and implement system and process changes and periodically assess processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement
- Monitor data integrity and regularly perform data hygiene tasks to maintain highest-possible level of data quality
- Evaluate new version releases of system tools and their compatibility with the rest of integrated system
Training and Staff Support
- Work with staff to better integrate other data systems to further understand members, prospects and stakeholders
- Train new staff on relevant systems and work with staff to support existing system administrators and super users
- Work with staff to better integrate other data systems to further understand prospects, members, donors, funders, etc.
Project Management of Organization-wide Data Projects
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for organizational best practices
- Collect data throughout lifecycle of projects to provide measurable performance metrics
- Design processes to measure progress on future strategic plan goals including racial equity goal
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support decision-making processes
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field with 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in data management, program administration, or a similar role, with a track record of building and/or leading data teams.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality management, and data privacy regulations.
- Experience with data management tools, databases, and data visualization software (e.g., Salesforce, SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics, Azure.).
- Strong CRM/AMS database management skills: candidate must have experience being a “Super User” of Altai or a similar CRM

- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Experience in 501(c)(6), 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations is a plus.
- Experience with data management tools, databases, and data visualization software
