Data Engineering Manager, Analytics

- Design and develop creative and innovative solutions to manipulate and transform data coming from diverse domains and components operating in facebook.com, such as advertisements
and pages, as well as other custom software systems and databases. - Design, architect and develop data solutions that help product and business teams make data driven decisions.
- Lead
data solution design efforts from beginning to end, as well as process for the development and implementation of data integration for external insights. - Work on Data Warehouse and
operational Data Store. - Leverage a homegrown Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) framework as well as off-the-shelf ETL tools, as appropriate.
- Collaborate with data infrastructure and
engineering teams to build and extend cross platform ETL and reports generation frameworks. - Provide consultation to business partners, analysts, managers, end users and developers to
clarify work objectives, determine project scope, obtain consensus, identify problems and recommend solutions. - Support end users on ad hoc data usage and serve as a subject matter
expert on functional matters. - Develop ETL using Python, Perl PHP or similar technologies.
- Apply expert knowledge of ETL techniques and best practices to manage extremely large
volumes of data, Data warehousing architecture, data modeling best practices, MicroStrategy or other similar Business Intelligence (BI) reporting solutions. - Work with database
programming and performance tuning techniques and strong analytical skills, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. - Telecommute from anywhere in the U.S. permitted.
- Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Management or related field and three years of work experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Requires three years of experience in the following:
- 1. Data warehouse space
- 2. Custom ETL design, implementation and maintenance
- 3. Working with either a MapReduce or an MPP system
- 4. Object-oriented programming languages
- 5. Schema design and dimensional data modeling
- 6. Writing SQL statements
