Data Engineer - Lab Informatics

We are looking for a talented Data Engineer with expertise in analytics engineering, data transformation, and business intelligence to support the company’s data initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining SQL-based analytics pipelines, ensuring clean and versioned data products, and enabling business teams with insights and visualizations. This role will focus on managing analytics infrastructure, driving data quality, and delivering structured datasets and dashboards that support clinical, operational, and business decision-making
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL-based data pipelines to support analytics and reporting.
- Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using AWS QuickSight to provide business insights.
- Partner with stakeholders to deliver data products that align with organizational goals and requirements.
- Own and enhance analytics infrastructure to ensure scalability, efficiency, and governance.
- Ensure data quality, validation, and anomaly detection to maintain accuracy and reliability.
- Implement data governance, lineage tracking, and best practices aligned with industry standards.
- Develop scripts and applications in Python or similar languages to automate workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance data handling workflows.
- Provide technical documentation, training, and enable self-service analytics for business users.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to support cross-functional data initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or BI development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- Expertise in SQL with proven skills in writing and optimizing complex queries.
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using Python or similar programming languages.
- Proficiency in AWS tools, including services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, and QuickSight.
- Experience building dashboards, reports, and business insights using AWS QuickSight, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of data storage strategies, including partitioning, indexing, and lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with implementing and maintaining data governance and quality processes.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling stories for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
- A proactive, team-oriented approach with a focus on delivering results.
The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.Remote USA$109,200—$136,500 USD
