Role Overview
What You'll Do
Sodexo, Inc.: Data Engineer I – Cheektowaga, NY
DUTIES:
- Work with Sodexo’s global & regional Data Services teams, DataLab Data Science teams, IS&T Security & Infrastructure teams and external Data Factory dev teams to ensure ‘Data Products’ are integrated, tested and usable.
- Work with Data architect and Solution architect to ensure the architectures and deployments align with the project requirements.
- Perform routine assignments of moderate complexity under close supervision and uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems.
- Ensure fast access to the data for any persona or use case that requires it (e.g. managing the development of ingestion pipelines and data exposition related to use case needs).
- Define end-to-end Data Software engineering.
- Troubleshoot incidents with a good understanding of the context and related impacts
- Involve and coordinate key stakeholders (partners and internal teams) when required
- Document and improve procedures, implementation plan, diagram, technical inventory
- Build and analyzes statistics regarding the project/application/system
- Communicate regularly (on crisis or recurrent mode) on activities to stakeholders
- Manage crisis and keep control of the situation
- Analyzes incidents and assesses lessons learnt to improve the service
- Ensure follow-up methodology for all actions engaged
- Report weekly and monthly on services activities
- Participate and assess design of solutions
- Build reusable ‘Data Software Pipelines’ compliant with development best practices, architecture, cloud, network, security and legal requirements,
- Provide reporting on project activities
- Track and communicate progress, barriers, and budget adherence using project management processes
- Perform research to specify systems according to needs
- Pinpoint causes of malfunctions and suggests remedial action and alternative solutions
- Responsible for competitive awareness and technology landscape monitoring
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field and three (3) years of experience with System design, including specification creation, user stories and standards writing, application and solution design.
Experience must include:
- 3 years of experience with Data management & analysis including: Data Modeling & Design; Meta Data Management; Data Warehouse; Business Intelligence & Data Visualization; and Master Data Management.
- 3 years of experience with application development, support and maintenance including: Application performance measurement; DevOps methodology; Coding & scripting; and Validation & Testing.
- 3 years of experience with processes, methodologies and tools including Agile methodology
Position eligible for up to 100% telecommuting; may be performed anywhere in the U.S and Up to 5% domestic travel to Sodexo location(s).
SALARY: $107,500 - $128,091.81/year
LOCATION: 400 Airborne Pkwy W, Cheektowaga, NY, 14225
