JOB SUMMARY
Code.org’s Research, Evaluation, and Data (RED) Team plays a critical role in shaping our strategic decisions and helping us achieve our mission. We’re looking for a skilled and passionate Data Analyst to join our team.
We have millions of student and teacher users, all of whom generate data. As a Data Analyst, you'll be at the forefront of our data analysis and reporting efforts. You will work closely with leaders across the organization to inform their decision-making by building visualizations, answering strategic questions, developing data products, and defining and implementing metrics. Your work will translate complex datasets into clear, accessible, and visually compelling insights.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will:
- Design and develop dashboards to support Code.org teams, including top leadership. Your visualizations will illuminate trends, patterns, and insights, empowering teams to make informed decisions.
- Lead training sessions and hold Office Hours for your colleagues on data topics
- Collaborate with leadership to identify drivers of changes in our metrics
- Build SQL models and views in dbt and commit them to our analytics layer via GitHub
- Develop expertise on Code.org’s programming and curriculum in order to develop insightful analyses
- Analyze survey data provided by students and teachers to help us continually improve our products
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
We seek candidates who have:
- Passion for the mission of driving equity in Computer Science and AI education
- Experience writing clean, well-tested code in SQL to query relational databases
- Experience crafting effective data visualizations (Tableau preferred) and reporting dashboards
- Experience working on quantitative or statistical analysis projects
- Experience working with multiple partners and pursuing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working with technical and non-technical teams
- Strong documentation and verbal communication skills
We prefer candidates who also have:
- 2-5 years work experience in data analysis, analytics, or equivalent field.
- Connection to or experience in the fields of education, computer science and/or ed tech
- Experience with python or R for data analysis
- Experience with building data pipelines in dbt
In addition, candidates must:
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Work within the United States
- Pass a pre-employment background check
- Be willing to travel a minimum of two times per year for team events

Step 2: Homework (~2-3 hours)
Step 3: Interviews with several members of the Code.org team (~ 3 hours)
Step 4: Final Interview (1 hour)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS PACKAGE
The expected salary range for this position is $99,000 - $110,000. Most offers are on the lower end of the salary range and are at the company’s sole discretion based on the final candidate’s experience. This allows us to provide a fair and equitable approach to compensation when setting pay and maintaining internal pay equity.
