Job Summary:The Office of Economic Opportunity is seeking to hire a data analyst to join its Labor Statistics Division.
The position is a hybrid position with the opportunity to work from home when feasible.
The data analyst will be part of a small, enthusiastic data collection team working on behalf of the Bureau of Labor Statistics to gather employer business information used to produce a tabulation of the number of Arizona establishments, monthly employment, and quarterly wages for workers covered by state and federal unemployment insurance laws for the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW), Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) and Current Employment Survey (CES) programs.
Much of this position’s work entails reviewing unemployment insurance tax records, contacting employers to update records and collect missing business information, matching reported data to industry codes, and conducting comprehensive reviews of completed survey data.
This is a grant-funded position.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
Job Duties:• The analyst will make decisions on the correctness and completeness of the data submitted and will make follow-up contacts to acquire missing information and/or clarify incorrect data
• This review includes the analysis of the occupations reported against the standard industry pattern to identify the presence of abnormalities in the reported data
• This process involves contacting all non-response units assigned to solicit their voluntary assistance in completing the survey
