We build impactful brand reporting and provide analytics consulting in support of NMN’s strategic business decisions, including media engagement, customer behavior, and merchandising performance for our brands. The ideal candidate for this position is ultra curious, possesses a strong reporting and analytics background, and most importantly a genuine passion for storytelling with data. They need to be able to think strategically about the business needs while always looking for new opportunities to solve business problems with data-driven tools. This position will join a team of 2 data analysts and 7 agency support analytics, reporting into the Sr. Manager of Data Science & Analytics, Nordstrom Media Network.
A day in the life…
Use storytelling to present data in a clear and engaging manner, making it accessible and meaningful to audiences with varying degrees of technical expertise.
Provide high-quality data visualizations to support essential aspects of the Media Network, presented through automated dashboards and ad-hoc reports.
Support weekly, campaign reporting requests to drive deep and robust post-campaign insights.
Flex into advanced analytics such as incrementality testing, cohort analysis, and closed-loop measurement.
Partner with key stakeholders, notably Sales & Account Managers, to identify problems and collaboratively propose solutions.
Work together with fellow analysts to review code and share knowledge, fostering ongoing growth and learning to enhance the team's overall impact
Balance competing priorities to focus on the most impactful work, while navigating ambiguity to deliver value.
You own this if you have…
First and foremost, strong storytelling skills and a passion for data visualization.
2-5 years of experience analyzing complex media data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations.
2-5 years of experience developing and deploying production-level SQL queries
2-5 years of experience with advanced BI visualization (Looker or Tableau preferred)
Ability to think strategically, seek to expand understanding of business domain, processes, data sources, and relevant key metrics
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related quantitative analytics discipline is preferred.
Direct experience working with the business in marketing & the retail industry is strongly preferred!
