About the Role
The Certified Damage Prevention Technician will report to the Operations Lead. The position will play a key role in safety and quality while driving, parking, and performing audits on marked gas lines. This position requires a high level of physical activity and working in a wide variety of weather conditions.
***Salary Transparency: For those residing in New York, the pay rate for this position is at $18/hour. ***
What You’ll Do
- Compliance & Safety
- Assure compliance with Code Rule 753 and promote safe excavation practices
- Follow strict Utility, State and Federal guidelines relating to damage prevention
- Wear assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) and company uniform
- Follow safety, quality, and operational procedures
- Participate in safety meetings
- Gas Main Locating & Site Visits
- Hand out educational materials and public awareness items to excavators
- Visit 3rd party excavation sites and construction zones regularly
- Collect data using handheld tablet or other collection device
- Show courtesy and professionalism when dealing with customers and other employees
- Complete Work Orders on assigned dates
- Travel to visit sites on occasion
- Communication & Collaboration
- Provide timely reports and documentation to management regularly
- Escalate issues and questions to Supervisor when necessary
- Maintain a satisfactory attendance record
- Keep assigned vehicle clean
- Report equipment and vehicle issues immediately
- Communicate with dispatchers
- Other duties as needed

- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license
