Dairy Foods Account Manager

The Account Manager will hold management responsibility for key elements of the Land O’Lakes Dairy Foods retail portfolio within the assigned territory of Delhaize (Food Lion & Hannaford). Objectives include attainment of sales volume, customer profitability, distribution, merchandising, share, and pricing. Develop and own customer business planning through effective management of assigned businesses and resources.
This is a remote (home office) sales role working with customers on the East Coast ranging from Southern Maine to Northern North Carolina. Candidates must be located in the territory.
Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 3+ years consumer packaged goods sales experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and process data along with developing recommendations
- Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and persuasive skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a team environment
- Goal oriented, self-starter w/ solid financial acumen
70% Field Execution
- Manage all customer facing sales functions for assigned customers.
- Manage trade spending within budget guidelines.
- Provide communication and direction as it relates to supply and logistics.
- Achieve annual sales volume targets.
10% Planning
- Effectively communicate and advocate internally for assigned customers. Areas of focus include effectively communicating customer needs, interacting with Sales Acceleration Manager’s (SAMs) and marketing teams to communicate customer trends and requirements.
10% Reporting and Administration
- Effective use of data to create actionable insights that improve customer and Land O’Lakes profitability, sales, and share.
10% Market Management
- Continuous learning about the customer, competitive marketplace, and industry to effectively manage change at the customer. Opportunities include attending industry events, seeking out customer events and key initiative programs.
- Incorporate personal Individual Development Plan (IDP) goals for development in role and for future opportunities.
Required Experience and Education
- 4 Year College Degree or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years consumer packaged goods sales experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and process data along with developing recommendations
- Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and persuasive skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a team environment
- Goal oriented, self-starter w/ solid financial acumen
This is a sales role that is compensated with a target mix of base salary plus commission. Base salary is dependent upon experience/tenure and generally ranges between:
$105,040 - $157,560
Target incentive: 20%
In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges.
