School for International Training (SIT) seeks a Custom Program Manager to work with external partners as well as other World Learning/SIT departments to design and implement customized study abroad programs worldwide using the World Learning/SIT infrastructure. The Custom Programs Manager reports to the Vice President of Innovation, Strategy, & Partnerships and is a member of the University Relations team. The Custom Program Manager also works in close collaboration with university and other partners as well as World Learning/SIT colleagues, including academic directors, on-site program staff, academic deans, financial managers, and student affairs on the development and implementation of custom programs. This position can either be based in Brattleboro, Vermont or from a home office at an approved location within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all inquiries for customized programming from partner schools and conduct initial meetings with partners to review SIT custom program processes and available support. Determine capacity and fit for inquiries/requests from partner schools.
  • Proactively develop strategies in collaboration with university relations managers to generate new partnerships and business opportunities to maximize engagement with partner schools
  • Serve as the unit lead for data management, including reporting on enrollment and program trends, managing custom program records in Salesforce, and performing weekly, monthly, and annual custom program cycle audits
  • Streamline and manage updates to forms, documents, policies, application materials, etc., in collaboration with custom program team and other units, to support all custom programs
  • Liaise with Marketing & Communications to update printed assets and online content
  • Manage promotion and recruitment for key custom programs and events
  • Manage a portfolio of custom programs from program inception to program completion, including:
    • Co-designing program schedules, in consultation with external partners and SIT stakeholders
    • Creating program budgets, in consultation with external partners and SIT stakeholders
    • Developing proposals for submission to external partners
    • Facilitating contract review process for approved programs with Legal Affairs and partner school
    • Overseeing program implementation tasks to ensure program quality, including delivering pre-departure services, participating in planning conversations with external partners, communicating with on-site custom program leaders, and managing program budgets
    • Managing program closure tasks, including program evaluation and financial reporting
  • Working on a variety of strategic projects aimed at growing and strengthening SIT custom programs offerings, including but not limited to:
    • Collecting and organizing information on SIT program resources to inform the development of strong custom program proposals
    • Compiling budget data to ensure accurate and competitive price quotes
    • Contributing to the development of resources and training for SIT custom program leaders and external partner program leaders
    • Developing and incorporating best practices for diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism in SIT custom programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or their designee

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in international project management, program design, and budget development
  • Understanding of experiential education pedagogy and the field of study abroad in a U.S. context
  • Experience working in international and/or multicultural settings
  • Passion for and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, social justice, and anti-racism and to working with people from diverse cultural, ethnic, racial, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, including the ability to handle multiple time-sensitive responsibilities simultaneously
  • Ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of constituents including faculty, staff, and students, and with persons of diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, email, and database programs (Salesforce CRM experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely

Vaccination is strongly recommended for all employees in our U.S. offices except for those receiving medical or religious exemptions. If boosters are subsequently recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) then employees and faculty will be recommended to receive the booster within thirty (30) days of their eligibility.
