The Job
We are seeking a strategic and data-driven Retention Marketing Manager to lead and grow our retention programs, including email, SMS, and membership initiatives. This role focuses on building, implementing, and refining a comprehensive retention strategy to improve key metrics and drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lifecycle marketing, audience segmentation, and analytics, with a proven track record of successfully managing email and SMS programs.

The Opportunity
Strategy & Campaign Management
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & CRM to develop, implement, and optimize retention marketing strategies aligned with overall business goals.
- In partnership with Brand Managers, plan and execute all email, SMS, and membership campaigns, including brand promotions and automated flows.
Audience Segmentation & Insights
- Utilize Customer Data Platform (CDP) to segment audiences for personalized, targeted content.
- Report retention insights and campaign performance metrics to stakeholders.
Content Creation & Optimization
- Oversee the development of engaging, brand-aligned email and SMS content.
- Foster a culture of experimentation through A/B testing across all channels.
Program Monitoring & Analysis
- Regularly analyze campaign performance, ensuring continuous improvement based on data insights.
- Provide actionable audience insights to inform retention strategies.
Growth & Compliance
- Develop and execute strategies to grow and maintain a healthy subscriber list and increase membership adoption.
- Ensure all campaigns comply with relevant regulations (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR).
Team & Vendor Management
- Lead and mentor the Email Marketing Specialist, supporting their professional growth.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to optimize resources.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in email and SMS marketing, preferably in the retail or e-commerce sector.
- Familiarity with marketing automation platforms and customer data management systems.

- Expertise in Klaviyo, Attentive, and other email marketing and automation platforms.

The base wage for this role ranges from $90,720.00 to $136,080.00. Where you land in that range depends on your skills and experience, and we also factor in internal pay equity. While the full range is listed for this role, we rarely hire at the top of the range, leaving room for professional and financial growth in role.
