JOB DESCRIPTION:
SUMMARY OF POSITION
This is a remote position! HOWEVER, applicants in Illinois or surrounding cities is preferred.
This position is part of a 24/7/365 high volume, suicide prevention focused call team. Our department has been featured in a Time Magazine article detailing our team’s efforts toward suicide prevention. As a part of this team, you’d be responsible for providing brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, safety planning, crisis intervention, and appropriate service linkage for individuals who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis and reach out via 988. This is an excellent position for recent graduates interested in providing support and demonstrating compassion toward others while being a part of a dynamic team of crisis care consultants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate high level of clinical knowledge and skill in providing telephonic clinical screenings, risk assessments, means restriction, and crisis intervention to callers/chatters/texters.
- Conduct outreach calls to individuals at risk for suicide
- Attend team meetings, in-service training, supervision, and other quality assurance training.
- Demonstrate high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette.
- Demonstrate knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources.
- Meet the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation.
- Promote a departmental culture of cooperation and collaboration with other cross-functional
departments, community agencies, hospitals, mental health consumers, and the public at large.
- Assist in administrative tasks as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
- Demonstrates knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources for individuals in Illinois.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist required.
- One year experience preferred.
Training for this team will take place from M-F 10-6:30pm CST.
Available Shifts:
- 4am-12:30pm-Sunday-Thursday with Friday/Saturday off
- 8am-4:30pm Tuesday-Saturday with Sunday/Monday
- 12pm-8:30pm Wednesday-Sunday with Monday and Tuesday off
- 3:30pm-12am Friday through Tuesday with Wed/Thurs off
- 5PM-1:30am Friday through Tuesday with Wed/Thurs off
- 5PM-1:30am Tuesday through Saturday with Sunday/Mon Off
- 8pm-4:30am Wednesday through Sunday with Mon/Tues off
