The Team
At Creative Labs, we are the pioneers of tomorrow's promotional assets, crafting the future of how artwork, video and copy help members discover from Netflix’s emerging user experiences. Whether it’s a new mobile feed experience or a new way for members to find award-winning films and series, Labs collaborates with visionary product teams to define and elevate the promotional assets that help members connect with entertainment they’ll love. We set a high bar for excellent promotional creative, continuously pushing the boundaries as the member experience evolves. Our work encompasses both concepting and prototyping new promotional assets and systems and stress-testing them for quality at scale. Our team is a dynamic and enterprising group of creative directors, technology strategists, creative strategists, and producers, all dedicated to shaping the future of entertainment discovery.
The Role
We are looking for an ambitious, insightful, collaborative and curious Creative Strategist to join our team. You will collaborate closely with business leaders in member streaming, XD and merchandising to create innovative promotional asset types that cater to member needs and enhance the user experience design. You will blend cultural, behavioral and categorical insights to fuel the creative process. You will craft briefs to inspire purposeful work that feeds into experimentation and testing. You will input into the productization and implementation process as these asset types are productized and scaled. You will partner with creatives to translate asset ideas into system-level frameworks and toolkits that flex across our diverse catalogue and member journey. You will be at the forefront of new experiences at Netflix and your work will unlock new and delightful ways that promotional creative can help members discover more entertainment.
What You Will Do
Define the goals, objectives and deliverables of Labs projects that input into wider cross-functional initiatives
Craft strategic briefs that narrow our creative approach when many are possible, based on insights
Develop creative hypotheses that get tested and refined through member research and/or product tests
Identify opportunities where strategic frameworks, creative toolkits and creative technology can unlock scale and enable long-term implementation of our strategies
Partner closely with talented creative directors that lead a team of editors, designers, copy writers and motion graphics artists
What We’re Looking For
Demonstrated ability working as a strategic partner and leader in a creative or experience-focused team
Proven track record in creative strategy, design strategy, brand strategy, interactive/experience design and/or content strategy
Experience partnering with creative directors and experience designers
Strength driving partnerships in complex organizations and aligning teams around a vision. Enjoys building relationships within a large organization and bringing teams together around a common goal
A pro at leading strategic discussions with diverse functions (including: technical, operational, business and creative), influencing cross-functional decision-making
Ability to thrive in ambiguity and bring clarity and confidence when new processes, workflows and strategies are being created
Adaptability and excitement for change
Clear demonstrated success in transforming business and experience goals into nuanced and focused creative strategies that lead to exceptional creative work.
Champion of user needs
Experience building high-level, systems-level strategies and frameworks
Experience leading or designing creative research
Ability to find and curate insights across multiple sources: consumer insights, competitive insights, cultural insights
Clear and effective communicator that is excellent at writing, storytelling, and presenting

Experience developing content strategies that define creative components of an experience

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $70,000 - $370,000.
Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
