Job Description

The mission of Testing Services is to provide comprehensive testing services for students, faculty, staff, and the community in a professional, secure, and accessible environment to assist students in achieving their academic and/or professional goals.

The Course Placement & Testing Coordinator provides assessment and course placement coordination and advising for prospective, new, current, and transfer students to assist with academic success. This includes coordination of college course placement processes and procedures, providing individualized advising sessions, coordinating testing accommodations, and advising on preparation and retesting policies according to the assessment test results. This position also assists with coordination and administration of testing services provided by the Testing Center.

This position will be located on the Rapids campus.

This position will have the possibility of working remotely one day per week based on department needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of professional experience working in student services

  • Demonstrated commitment and success working in a diverse and multi-cultural and multiracial community

  • Experience working with test administration

  • Oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively articulate messages, information and ideas to a diverse group of people to facilitate shared understanding

  • Computer skills sufficient to utilize multiple types of technology to provide advising services and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software

Preferred Qualification 

  • Knowledge of assessment tools and techniques such as placement testing, etc.

  • Ability to interpret assessment test results and communicate course placement relative to academic development and the transition to college-readiness

  • Previous experience in career, academic, or student support advising

  • Knowledge and experience using Integrated Statewide Records System (ISRS), Academic Records Student Affairs Application (ARSA), RegisterBlast, Transferology and assessment programs or similar programs
