We are looking for a Country Head of Sales for the US & Canada to join our Vegetable Seeds Agricultural Solutions team. This is a remote US role, ideally based in California, but open to other US locations.

As a Country Head of Sales, US & Canada, you will be responsible for steering the marketing and sales teams for our Vegetable Seeds business to achieve performance and customer focus, creating a strong team spirit. You will lead feedback and coaching conversations, ensuring the development of your team within a pioneering, empowering, and performing environment. Additionally, you will be accountable for developing and implementing the country marketing and business plans, including crop strategies and business opportunities. Your role will also involve initiating customer-centric initiatives, developing and monitoring performance with key accounts, and ensuring proper segmentation of customers.

  • Leading the marketing and sales teams to enhance performance and customer focus, fostering team spirit and collaboration.
  • Conducting Frequently Meaningful Conversations (FMC) conversations (Feedback and Coaching) and implementing training plans for team development within the PEP (Pioneering, Empowering, and Performing) environment.
  • Developing and executing the country marketing/business plan, including crop strategies and business opportunities, while ensuring proper segmentation of customers and establishing Service Level Agreements.
  • Initiating customer-centric initiatives linked to the customer experience strategy and creating a customer experience improvement plan.
  • Managing commercial policies and tactical pricing tools, ensuring alignment with regional guidelines while being accountable for marketing and sales expenses within the country.
  • Forecasting financials and seed supply for the short term (current year and next), balancing supply and demand while addressing customer needs and market conditions.

If you...

 

  • Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, agriculture, or other related field of study, with experience in marketing and sales.
  • Possess 3-5 years of experience in managing sales teams.
  • Previous experience in the vegetable seeds business, preferred.
  • Have a good understanding of the US business culture.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of different cultures and ideally have experience in a multinational company.
  • Have a high level of English proficiency.
  • Exhibit leadership and social versatility, with a sales-oriented and results-driven approach.
  • Possess strong management and communication skills, and be able to work effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Utilize a coaching and feedback style of management.
  • Ability to travel 30-40% travel, domestic and international.

Pay transparency

 

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $165,600 - $227,700. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
