Corporate Information Security and Privacy Intern

The Corporate Information Security and Privacy team’s mission is to maintain UMB’s position of trust by seeking to keep its customers, associates, and assets safe, uphold privacy rights, and maintain a secure and resilient business.
As the Corporate Information Security and Privacy Intern, you will go through a mentorship style training to gain exposure to UMB’s Corporate Risk line of business. You will report to the Director, Privacy and Third-Party Risk and Legal Counsel. During this internship you will learn how this team mitigates information security and privacy risk and gain real-world experience when it comes to providing responses to different internal partners and customers for information security and data privacy practices.
How you will spend your time:
- Researching and handling activities relating to existing and emerging laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), cybersecurity frameworks, Artificial Intelligence and industry intel
- Assisting with trending and reporting
- Assisting with responses to information security incidents
- Assisting with responses to privacy requests
- Gaining exposure to other information security disciplines
- Gaining exposure to other Corporate Risk groups
We’re excited to talk with you if:
- You have completed at least two years in an undergraduate program in Pre-Law, Data, Political Science program
- You are interested in gaining exposure in information privacy, privacy law, or risk within a corporate entity
This position is in a full time Hybrid position working remotely on Monday and Friday, and in office Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. that pays at 23/hour
Compensation Range:
$25,640.00 - $49,440.00The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
