Job Description
As Corporate Communications Manager, you’ll influence Achieve’s key constituents, including journalists, government agencies and legislators, investors, business partners and consumer groups. We are a growing business committed to being the household name in digital personal finance helping everyday people get on the path to a better financial future. You’ll play an essential role in these efforts by promoting, educating and defending Achieve’s brand, industry and reputation.
What you’ll do:
Drive visibility and thought leadership by devising strategic narratives and media pitches that increase understanding of Achieve’s business model and the value we bring to our members, partners and teammates.
Cultivate and maintain deep relationships with financial, technology, consumer finance and business journalists, industry opinion leaders and other external stakeholders.
Stay informed on current events and news trends to identify emerging opportunities for Achieve to contribute to the public discourse and monitor for potential reputational risks.
Create a range of communications materials including press releases, briefing materials, survey-based research and other thought leadership content. Collaborate with the Brand Marketing team to develop multimedia content for promotion across various channels.
Support internal subject-matter experts by helping develop messaging and talking points for media interviews, bylined articles and speaking engagements.
Understand the state and federal regulatory environment and the impacts to our members and our business to help build public awareness and understanding. Support our advocacy efforts to advance Achieve’s policy and business priorities.
Flawlessly manage multiple simultaneous projects and maintain accountability by monitoring progress of primary objectives and tracking results.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field
5+ years’ experience in corporate communications, journalism or related field(s). Financial services experience is a plus.
Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, including AP Style.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with journalists, government officials, investors and other public stakeholders.
