Role Overview
Genus plc has an exciting opportunity for an Corporate Communications Manager to support the Global Corporate Communications Center of Expertise (COE). This role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic Employee Communications for enterprise programs, supporting leader communications, and managing digital channels (EX Platform/Intranet, social media, and Genusplc.com). This role collaborates closely with leaders of the business units, global regions, and functions to develop integrated plans that support Genus’s goals, enable an effective leader cascade, drive comms process improvement, and channel optimization. This hybrid role can be based in Hendersonville, TN; DeForest, Wisconsin; Stapley, UK or vicinity.
The salary range for this position is ($100,000 - $130,000) USD. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
You Will
Employee Communications
- Develop, plan, and execute strategic employee communications programs designed to support the objectives of the organization.
- Work with business unit leaders, global regions, and functions to develop and implement Genus’s internal communication strategy and activities in support of global priorities.
- Partner effectively across the organization and provide strategic communications counsel to functions and business units for announcements, programs & initiatives for global employee audiences.
- Enable leaders and managers to cascade messages effectively via Comms resources, tools & training.
- Measure effectiveness of campaigns, track metrics and report back results and key learnings, as well as areas for improvement for future initiatives.
Employee Experience Platform (Intranet)
- Assist with the development and updating of Genus’s intranet portal, ensuring alignment with Global needs, guidelines and brand standards.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders (e.g. HR, Marketing, IT, Finance, Legal, etc.) to strategize, design, and maintain site. Provide training & ongoing support to content owners.
- Ensure intranet site informs, educates and engages internal audiences, and acts as central hub of information for employees. Makes sure pages are optimized, with a consistent look/feel.
- Upload stories, content and update material on a regular and timely basis, leveraging visuals, graphic design, infographics, and video to drive engagement.
- Track site analytics, report back on results, and make recommendations for future improvements.
- Improve and maintain the intranet user guide and documentation, with guidelines and execution protocols, and provide ongoing training as needed.
- Stays abreast of industry best practices & tech trends that can add value to the end user experience.
Content Creation
- Write, edit and prepare internal communications and announcements in a variety of media, including digital and social, that promote employee understanding, motivation and engagement.
- Prepare presentations for internal audiences to support global initiatives, including eblasts, talking points, FAQs, PowerPoints, articles, multi-media assets and other collateral.
- Partner with regional communications team to identify opportunities to integrate content provided by business & subject matter experts into internal (Intranet) and external channels (.COM, social media).
- Maximize content delivery and contribute with updates to global editorial calendar.
- Provide hands-on effective support in editing, translating and improving content as needed.
- Track content performance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain brand and content standards to ensure consistency.
Web presence (Genusplc.com)
- Contribute to building .COM presence, overseeing and enhancing the performance of the site, and partnering with content owners to maintain site updated and optimized.
- Partner with vendor on overall platform maintenance and administration, content updates, enhancements, and site optimization and performance.
- Partner with content owners to build and deploy content strategy, support with design and audiovisual content development. Provide ongoing training and support.
- Improve site’s interaction with both users and search engines, applying SEO as needed to drive traffic.
Social media
- Oversee Genus LinkedIn and YouTube social media accounts. Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content on a weekly basis around key business, industry, and company topics.
- Maintain CEO and CHRO’s LinkedIn social media pages and content calendars.
- Support implementation of campaigns to encourage employee participation & advocacy.
- Moderate and manage conversations and online reputation, ensuring prompt response to inquiries.
- Monitor and analyze presence and report on metrics, adjusting as needed to optimize channel.
- Coordinate with external agencies and vendors as needed.
- Research on current benchmark trends and regional audience preferences.
Other
- Manage translations as needed.
- Drive employee communications process improvement and channel optimization.
- Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours.
- Performs other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, digital marketing, journalism, or related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in corporate communications including leadership/manager communications, content creation, channel management, employee engagement, change management, intranet/CMS publishing, social media, graphic design and video production.
- Experience in implementing and maintaining employee experience platforms/Intranets a must.
- Proficient and advanced writing skills in English, Spanish or Portuguese preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of advanced tools and technologies preferred: portals, CMS, Google Analytics, DALs, CRMs, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign.
- Good relationship management skills; highly organized and detailed oriented
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with cross functional teams
- Project management skills and ability to tackle large, time-sensitive projects
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
