Stellar Virtual was founded in 2019 with one school in Texas. We serve parents of K-12 students, unhappy with their current school, or needing an at-home/flexible learning environment. Technology Aspect

Position Overview
Stellar Virtual is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented 504 Coordinator to lead the implementation and management of Section 504 plans for Texas Virtual Schools (Texas-based programs) in a fully virtual environment. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all students. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills to effectively work with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development, review, and implementation of Section 504 plans for eligible students.
  • Conduct and facilitate 504 meetings in collaboration with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws related to Section 504.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all students with 504 plans.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and updates of 504 plans as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to teachers and staff on 504 compliance and best practices.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for questions or concerns related to Section 504.
  • Work closely with counselors, special education staff, and other team members to ensure coordinated support for students.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child’s accommodations and progress.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of 504 accommodations and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Collect and analyze data to ensure plans are meeting student needs and supporting academic success.
  • Assist with district-level reporting and audits related to 504 compliance.
  • Participate in professional development to stay updated on changes in laws and best practices.


Knowledge, Skills & Attributes 

  • In-depth knowledge of Section 504 and related federal and state regulations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in education, with a focus on student accommodations and compliance.
  • Experience working in a virtual school setting.
  • Strong understanding of virtual learning tools and platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace).
  • Empathy and dedication to student success.


Education & Certification Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in education, special education, or a related field is required.
  • A Master’s degree in education, special education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate or equivalent experience.
