The Controller will handle high-level accounting, managerial accounting, and oversee the financial activities of the company. The controller will also oversee all transaction processing activities such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing.  As head of the accounting department, the Controller will be responsible for any external financial reporting, cash management and cash flow forecasting, managing relationships with lenders and other external stakeholders.  The Controller will also drive the development and implementation of internal control policies and procedures. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will have direct/indirect supervision of approximately 200 people globally.

Leadership of the Accounting Function

  • Accurately manage all aspects of accounting, billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and organize financial statements for record and review.
  • Prepare quarterly/annual financial statements.
  • Prepare / support reporting for internal presentations.
    Advise on financial matters and decision-making regarding financial operations, capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with management and chief financial officer.

Cash

  • Oversee payments of all accounts; ensuring all accounts are paid on time.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and collections for cashflow management.
  • Oversee accounts payable including payments to vendors, bank loans, etc.
  • Cashflow forecasting; monitor cash and funding balance, keep an organized filing system of all accounts, statements, transactions, payments, and debts.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP in a timely manner, complying with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances.
  • Lead the external audit process.
  • Ensure the firm complies with all additional legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documented system of accounting policies and operations.
  • Implement and maintain financial governance and internal controls.
  • Manage accurate balance sheet reconciliation processes.

Systems and Processes

  • Continuous improvement of financial processes and procedures.
  • Support system implementations.
  • Define, benchmark, and implement operational best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross functional financial and business functions

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in Accounting
  • CPA preferred

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

  • Excellent computer skills;
  • Experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; Access, database, or other system knowledge
  • Knowledge of Workday preferred
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
  • Attention to detail

EXPERIENCE

  • Ideal candidate has 15-20 years of experience
  • At least 5 years as a Controller in a large global company, preferably professional services

LEADERSHIP SKILLS

  • Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $216,700 - $410,300

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
