Here's how you will contribute to the success of the company

Our team’s goal is to ensure that Sherweb is on a path for long-term growth. You will contribute to this goal by providing high-quality financial information which will allow management to make informed decisions. Succeeding in this role involves coordination and participation in all accounting functions related to the production of consolidated financial statements and related reports. To do this, you will collaborate with your immediate supervisor, the Director of Accounting, as well as a magnificent team of devoted colleagues.

Here's what your day-to-day will look like in this role

• Supervise and provide guidance the members of the accounting team, including accounts payable department
• Ensure the production of high-quality financial data according to an established timetable
• Coordinate and participate in the month-end and year-end processes and prepare consolidated financial statements that comply with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises
• Participate in the compilation of the year-end audit file
• File monthly GST/HST returns
• Collaborate with an external firm to ensure regulatory compliance of foreign subsidiaries
• Elaborate, document, maintain and improve the conventions, procedures and accounting processes
• Collaborate in budget processes and financial projections
• Ensure optimal functioning and continuously improve the usage of the accounting system and related tools
• Help management to set up various ad hoc requests, initiatives and projects, including the financial integration of new acquisitions

Here's what you need to have to get the job

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, paired with an accounting title (CPA)
• Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience with at least 3 years as a financial controller
• Experience managing personnel
• Demonstrated commitment and respect for deadlines
• You master Microsoft Office (with intermediate knowledge of Excel)
• You can navigate and optimize the functions of accounting systems and related tools
• Bilingual: English/French (oral and written)

Reasons for the requirement of English: Sherweb has international customers and fluency in English is the only way to ensure proper service delivery to them. The main tasks related to this position require written and oral communication with an English-speaking clientele at all times.
