Capitol Bridge is seeking a Controller to join our growing team.   
 

Job Overview 

The Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company's financial health and ensuring accurate and efficient accounting operations. This position involves leading an accounting team, managing financial processes, and providing strategic financial insights to guide critical business decisions. The Controller will also ensure compliance with legal financial requirements and actively explore opportunities for growth and cost savings, with a particular emphasis on government contracting. 

 

LocationRemote (preferred location in CST or EST areas) 

 

Pay and Benefits: 
Salary Range: $130,000 - $185,000, depending on experience and qualifications

Job Responsibilities 

  • Ownership and oversight of accounting operations, including managing the accounting team and relevant processes (including financial reports and budgets) 

  • Assist management with critical financial decisions 

  • Prepare financial documents such as business reports, forecasts, and statements to assess the company's financial health 

  • Monitor financial reports and identify cost-saving opportunities 

  • Stay up to date on financial market trends to maximize profits and explore new expansion areas, especially in government contracting 

  • Ensure the company meets legal financial requirements and maintains a good financial standing. 

  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to audit requirements and facilitating resolution of any identified issues. 

  • Collaborate with program managers to ensure accurate project cost tracking, revenue recognition, and contract deliverables. 

  • Conduct financial analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making and business planning. 

  • Assist in the development of project budgets and pricing strategies for government contract proposals. 

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including contracts, operations, and legal departments, to achieve business objectives. 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree required 

  • CPA certification preferred 

  • 5+ years of accounting experience required   

  • 2+ years of people management experience required   

  • Strong business acumen with attention to detail required 

  • Experience in both corporate and public accounting required   

  • Government contracting experience required 

  • Effective communication skills to discuss financial matters with co-workers and management and justify financial recommendations required 

  • Strong organizational and project management skills required
