We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Content Director to lead our content strategy and execution. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in creating and implementing comprehensive content plans, managing projects and teams, and producing high-quality content across various formats. This role involves both strategic oversight and hands-on content creation, with a focus on thought leadership, presentations, long-form and short-form content, and campaign materials. The Content Director will also be responsible for measuring and optimizing the effectiveness of our content through the development of reporting, KPIs, and metrics. 

 

Location: This role is fully remote for candidates who reside at least 50 miles away from our San Francisco or San Ramon office locations. For candidates who reside within 50 miles of our San

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Content Strategy Development: 

  • Create and execute a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with company goals and brand voice. 
  • Identify key content themes and topics that resonate with our target audience and support our thought leadership initiatives. 

2. Project and Team Management: 

  • Oversee content projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output. 
  • Manage a team of writers, editors, and other content creators, providing guidance, feedback, and support. 

3. Content Creation: 

  • Produce high-quality content across various formats, including thought leadership articles, event presentations (keynote & sessions), long-form content (e.g., white papers, eBooks), short-form content (e.g., blog posts, social media), and campaign materials (email comms for Tier 1 events). 
  • Ensure all content is engaging, accurate, and aligned with brand guidelines. 

4. Measurement and Optimization: 

  • Develop and implement reporting systems to measure the effectiveness of content. 
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Analyze data and use insights to optimize content strategy and execution. 

5. Collaboration: 

  • Work closely with marketing, sales, product, and other teams to ensure content supports overall business objectives. 
  • Collaborate with external partners and industry leaders. 

Qualifications: 

  • Excellent writer with 10+ years as a technical writer, editor, or content strategist, with a focus on software, ideally with a SaaS offering.  
  • Proven track record of leveraging in-house subject matter experts as well as creating assets directly. Creative thinker with out-of-the-box ideas to continually differentiate and stay ahead of market trends. Passion and ability to work well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and under tight deadlines. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 
  • Experience with content measurement and analytics tools. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.

Additionally, the total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.

All compensation and benefits are subject to the requirements and restrictions set forth in the applicable plan documents and any written agreements between the parties.

The US base salary range for this role is below. $112,200—$217,300 USD
