The Role at a Glance

 

Responsible for providing efficient administration, implementation and maintenance of Lincoln Financial Group (LFG) benefits programs focusing on 401(k) and pension programs. This position will consult/analyze and deliver on complex assignments/projects for the assigned area(s) of responsibility. This position will also act as a resource to applicable internal/external stakeholders ensuring the programs meet employees’ needs and provide important governance, compliance and financial responsibilities related to the programs.

 

What you'll be doing

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage the daily administration and maintenance of LFG’s defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans 
  • Manage relationships between LFG, participants, consultants, trustee and vendors, as applicable
  • Help ensure that retirement plans are administered according to plan provisions 
  • Ensure benefits related compliance (e.g., ERISA, DOL, IRS, SEC) through the development, implementation, documentation and monitoring of compliance related matters
  • Prepare and submit government required notices, reports, and forms (e.g. 5500s, SPDs, SARs, PBGC filings, etc.)
  • Provide actuaries and auditors with information and reports for plan valuations and audits. Serve as the point contact for annual plan audits
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping. Develop and maintain various retirement plan reports and develop ad-hoc reports
  • Initiate payments and redemptions within the Master Trust for invoicing and rebalancing purposes while maintaining accurate accounting records
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders including fiduciary committees, HR, Tax, Legal, Payroll, Finance and Information Technology
  • Provide clear and effective counsel to employees, participants, retirees and management, in person and in writing, and answer questions timely regarding retirement programs and policies
  • Develop communications and ensure they are up to date and regularly maintained
  • Complete benefit surveys and provides management with the information obtained from the results

Must haves: 

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) 
  • 3-5 years of experience working with 401(k) & defined benefit plans and the vendors/trustees that support the plans 
  • Understanding of regulations (ERISA, IRS & DOL) …
