Construction Inspector

Description
BETA Group is seeking a Construction Inspector to join the team! This individual will be the on-site construction representative to observe and ensure compliancy with design plans, specifications, and project/contract terms. In addition, the Construction Inspector will be responsible for representing BETA Group, Inc at job sites that will vary in condition and location throughout the New England area.
Responsibilities:
- Liaison between client, project manager, operations, and contractors to achieve successful project completion
- Reviews construction specifications and prepares observation reports
- Provides oversight and ensures compliancy with contract plans, specifications, and identifies areas where corrective actions are required
- Administers the scope, schedule, and budget for construction projects
- Tracks, evaluates, and communicates on construction project progress
- Provides monitoring and daily onsite inspections for projects, as well as obtain measurements of completed work and performs basic calculations
- Interpretation of project plans and specifications and coordinates final inspection(s)
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors
- Develop sketches of on-site conditions
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred location is BETA’s Lincoln, RI office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations. BETA also offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to request working remotely up to 2 days per week.

Requirements
Skills Required:
- 5+ years of practical construction experience, knowledge, methods, and materials
- A clear ability to understand/interpret design and construction documents
- Must be independent, highly motivated self-starters
- Strong technical aptitude with an eagerness to learn
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Able to prepare and maintain field reporting documentation
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Must be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets; and perform asset inspections
- Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willing to travel within New England
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering
- NICET, NETTCP, ACI Certifications
