Overview

 WildBrain Studios is looking for a Compositing Supervisor to join our team! 
  
In this role, you will partner with the VFX Supervisor and other creative leadership to guide and implement our Compositing department’s workflow and process. In addition, you will contribute to our Premium development projects and work on the box on shots ranging in artistic and technical complexity. You will supervise a team of artists and ensure deliverables are completed on time.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

 

What You'll Do:

  • Define project’s Compositing processes, workflows and tools in conjunction with technical and creative leadership  
  • Oversee all composting work and solve high-level technical and creative challenges
  • Create and maintain Compositing templates and workflows, and support artists utilizing them 
  • Collaborate with the VFX Supervisor to establish an efficient framework for the compositing department 
  • Ensure and maintain the expected render time, quality and style across the show and series  
  • Approve and review team members’ work 
  • Assist with the creation of documentation and training for Compositing guidelines and techniques  
  • Participate or work on complex shots or sequences
  • Meet production deadlines and maintain regular communication with the production team
  • Communicate with other supervisors and team leads on concerns and production issues ahead of time
  • Provide constructive criticism, wisdom, guidance and feedback that will help further their team’s career development  

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Established experience working in Compositing leadership for Feature Animation/VFX 
  • Strong Leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor a team of artists 
  • Expert level knowledge of Nuke 
  • Strong experience with Maya 
  • Good understanding of modelling, texturing, shading, lighting, compositing and rendering workflows  
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide creative, technical, and artistic solutions 
  • Ability to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas in a professional and positive manner  
  • Ability to adapt to multiple show styles  

 

Pay Range: $2788 - $3077 per week.

Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individual brings, with consideration of our internal equity.
