Under specific direction from the Site Manager, maintains assets, including internal and external inspections, repair of fiberglass and composite blades, spinners, and nacelles from Category 1 through Category 5. Expected to travel for extended periods of time working on EDF Renewable Energy projects as needed. When not traveling, will be based at the home site, and will be directed by the Site Manager. While traveling on behalf of EDF Renewable Energy/Renewable Services, you are expected to represent our organization and our core values at all times.

Salary range:
The full pay range for this role is $22.00 to $36.00 per hour. The target range for this position is $23.00 to $30.00 per hour. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Perform composite repairs on wind turbine blades, including but not limited to, delamination repairs, laminate patching, core repair, leading-edge erosion protection, and surface finishing
- Prepare damaged areas for repair by cleaning, sanding, and applying appropriate adhesives or fillers
- Utilize specialized equipment and tools such as grinders, sanders, spray guns, and vacuum infusion systems for repair work
- Inspect wind turbine blades to identify damage, defects, and areas requiring repair
- Conduct thorough assessments of blade condition using visual inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques, and other specialized tools
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols during all repair activities
- Document repair work, including before-and-after photographs, repair logs, and associated paperwork
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians in wind blade repair techniques and best practices
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while working at heights and in various weather conditions
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor or his/her designee
Qualifications
Qualification:
- Proven experience as a Wind Blade Composite Repair Technician or in a related field, with a strong understanding of composite materials, repair techniques, and NDT methods
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and repair specifications
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to wind turbine blade repair, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OSHA regulations
- Ability to work at heights and in challenging environments, with a strong emphasis on safety
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, including grinders, sanders, and spray guns
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to travel to different job sites and work flexible hours
Education/Experience:
- High school or equivalent: or up to one-year related experience or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-year related experience or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Successfully complete applicable safety and technical training program for the entry level wind technician.
- Able to demonstrate some basic computer knowledge.
- Able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

- The employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Able to work at heights, including climbing up and descending towers, working from a suspended platform or manlift, entering nacelles and hubs at extreme heights
- Able to work in a mechanical environment. This may have been achieved through formal training, previous work experience as an auto mechanic or the ability to demonstrate that an individual is mechanically inclined
- Able to operate company vehicles (field trucks) both on site as well as on public roads and highways
- Must have a current driver’s license with a good DMV printout
- Demonstrate good work habits, including but not limited to attendance, and maintaining a neat and orderly work environment
Working Conditions:
Composite Technicians spend 100% of their time in the field, excluding safety; Manager and scheduled training exercises. Technicians work in teams and are provided a company vehicle (service truck) in which they
carry the required tools and parts necessary to perform repairs and/or maintenance on turbines in multiple wind fields on any given day. Generally, Service Technicians work in extreme weather conditions.
